While in Gaiole in Chianti make sure to visit some of the many well-preserved castles located around the heart of the Chianti region. Castello di Broliohas has been in the Ricasoli family since 1141, and makes it the oldest winery in Italy, well that in itself is worth a visit to this estate.
Within many of these wineries or estates you can taste and purchase wine, olive oil, and cheeses. Alongside the history of this region lies some contemporary art spaces including: the Chianti sculpture park and the contemporary art gallery in Bianciardi.
