Lake Garda has wonderful remnants of a by gone Italian era. There are many notable examples including: the stunning privately-owned island of Isola del Garda, which is open to the public for guided tours. This stunning island dates back to 878 and showcases immense examples of neo-gothic Venetian style architecture. The current owners, the Borghese-Cavazza family, have been in possession of the island since 1870.
